It supports the front end of the saddle from collapsing in the shoulder area and applies an even amount of pressure. This pad is ideal for horses with diminishing top line or horses with very high withers. Made with top quality wool blend offers superior shock absorption and protection with a contoured design that molds to conform to horses back and optimize saddle fit. 7/8″ thick by 30″ X 30″
